Physical DescriptionAqua non-lead glass, polychrome opaque and transparent marbles; pressed. (a) Flat, square shape; the face with 169 hemispherical dimples arranged in a square array of 13 by 13; raised rounded rim, inscribed in raised letters "MADE IN AUSTRIA/REGISTRE/GESETZLICH GESCHUTZT/REGISTERED"; reverse with four raised rounded feet, ground flat. (b) Tiny marbles of transparent amber, green (two tints), colorless, dark and light blue, and red; opaque white and black. (c) Metal tweezers; sheet metal, stamped to form a U-shaped tweezers, with concave arms to assist in picking up the marbles. (d) Printed booklet of 8 pages, each page with a colored diagram showing patterns that can be made by arranging the colored marbles on the glass plate; the diagrams numbered individually from "1" through "32"; the reverse of the first page with scribbled wavy lines in pencil; the booklet held together with metal staples. (e) Flat box with hinged cover; dark brown with stamped "snakeskin" pattern cover, impressed "GLAS KUGEL/MOSAIK." (also outlined in silver paint), and "Ges. gesch./Oesterr. - Ung. Patent 140.010/ D.R.G.M./Deutsch. Reichs - Pat. 600.273" (partly gilt); printed in blue on the bottom "Alfred O/InSo3" and inscribed in pencil "PHHA-".
