Physical DescriptionColorless non-lead glass flashed in transparent amber, applied multicolored elements, iridization; blown, sandblasted, iridized, fused. Circular platter with wide flat rim and narrow dished center; overall sandblasting on all surfaces leaving scattered geometric "windows" in varying sizes through the amber flashing; each window has been framed with a raised, sandblasted frame, with overlapped corners; overall tightly sandblasted small lines; entire top surface has been heavily iridized and then covered and fused with scattering of small, raised, geometric, multicolored shapes (spheres, rods, squares, triangles and rectangles); narrow base with ground pontil; inscribed in script on underside in a non-sandblasted shape "Mark Russell/1984/Squares in/Progress Series".Provenance
