Physical DescriptionColorless non-lead cut sheet and blown glass, short dried twig branches; sheet glass assembled with Dow Corning; "house" blown into a wooden mold, twigs inserted and then opening sealed, sandblasted sheet glass, ink details, assembled. Narrow vertical two-section sculpture consisting of (a) small blown stylized rectangular house with pitched roof, one base corner is broken off, adjacent on one long side, at base, small triangular section is missing, short crack extends from top of gap to small drilled hole; sandblasted matte exterior leaves rows of narrow irregular strips curving over roof, non-sandblasted "windows" on all four sides of house (windows: horizontal large rectangle on long sides, three short irregular vertical rectangles on ends) allow viewing into hollow interior packed with short light-colored organic tree branches piled horizontally with thickest twigs at bottom; open base is sealed with rectangular section of mirror glass with chamfered corners; (b) house sits upon square end of rectangular pedestal assembled from cut and sandblasted sheet glass panels, pedestal is reverse-painted (black ink) over sandblasting producing overall black background with white matte decoration of wide scalloped borders enclosing graphic ink drawings of large birds in varying positions amongst budding tree branches; (a) short side, at center base edge: "Zed 92"; (b) base edge of side panel: "Dana Zed 1992".
