Physical DescriptionColorless, multi-colored opaque non-lead glasses dominated by blue, purple, green, orange, yellow and earth colors, orange/pink "winegold" lustre, glass enamels; circular sheet glass is cut, lustred and fired, smaller cut pieces are laid on a second circular sheet of glass enameled white, first circle (with lustre down) is laid on the white circle, together they are placed on stainless steel open mold with ceramic dressing, then kiln-fired to fuse and shape. Large shallow plate comprised of two superimposed circles sandwiching glass cut-out decoration against a white background with orange/pink (winegold) shading; cut-out decoration is of overlapping non-repeating geometric shapes dominated by large arrows at right angles to each other (largest blue arrow points at a stylized yellow tulip); overall airtraps and uneven inside texture caused by top circle "slumping" over cut-outs, exterior has overall mold marks; slightly concave base; on bottom near rim inscribed: "THATAWAY" (script) "higgins".Provenance
