Physical DescriptionColorless non-lead glass; blown, cut, engraved and stained. Bell-shape bowl, cut in vertical panels; shield-shape cartouche on front has copper-wheel engraved view of "THE NEW CAPITOL WASHINGTON" with foliage and figures in front, all surrounded by scrolls; reverse has seven polished circles arranged in a circle with ivy leaves trailing between; front and back panels and edges of cutting have been stained with red; applied stem with one large knop above inverted baluster, applied domed foot cut in eight scallops. Hollow cover has tall finial cut in panels above mushroom knob and bell-shape bowl with rim folded in and cut and polished on edge.
