Physical DescriptionBlack, brown iron, wood; cast and tooled. 5 piece mold for the manufacture of a piece of pressed glass. (a) Plunger, a solid piece with an egg-shaped lower portion (which fits into the rest of the mold) and a slightly smaller upper stem. (b, cap ring) A cricular ring with three protrusions which fit into holds in the upper surface of the mold to lock it into place; (c) three identical interlocking sections cut on the inside with a diamond pattern; these parts interlock with lugs and have protrusions which fit into slots on (d) a circular solid base plate; (e) is a metal handle which fits through the lugs and holds the three central parts tightly in place to receive the molten glass. The cap ring is marked "2056 ½ 5 OZ. LOW SHERBET".
