Physical DescriptionColorless, transparent red and blue flat glass; engraved, brass, assembled. Square shaped lantern with 4 glass panels, one red/colorless pane engraved with a fire wagon and "VIGILANT", a blue/colorless pane engraved with the arms of New York State showing Liberty and Justice beneath an eagle on another side, one plain red pane, and another blue/colorless pane depicting a man holding a flag that says "EXCELSIOR". Engraved triangular corner panes complete the design. The entire lamp is mounted on a brass rod.Provenance
