Interpretive NotesAbout 1927, Pierre Weissenburger, a winemaker in the medieval town of Obernai in Alsace, commissioned Lalique to design glassware for his wine. The molded inscription on this decanter, reads, “Le Vin du Clos Ste. Odile Rejouit les Coeurs” (The wine from the Sainte Odile vineyard makes hearts rejoice).
