Physical DescriptionMosaic Plaque with Wedjat-Eye. Canes of opaque brick-red, opaque white, opaque yellow, opaque medium deep blue, turquoise and transparent deep blue glass, bubbly, pitted, slightly dull and iridescent on edges; mosaic glass or millefiori technique. Thick segment of cane rectangular in cross section preserves elaborate wedjet-eye motif, white eye is cased with medium blue and transparent blue, a line of turquoise below with eyebrow of alternating white and blue above, this in turn is crowned by a medium blue line cased on either side with yellow in a transparent blue field; on the right is a brick-red border, below the eye the falcon's head hieroglyph in red is cased with multiple blue and white and the long curled tail in red is cased with yellow, the area between the tail and the eye is filled with a miniature scale pattern; the lower field is opaque medium blue contrasting with the upper field of translucent deep blue.
