Interpretive Notes
The Blaschkas used preformed parts when they created some of their models. These parts include anemone bodies, sea jelly domes, and the central disks of sea stars. The Blaschkas used many different techniques to achieve great variety in shape, size, color, and ornate detail.
Physical DescriptionPart of Glass Model of Marine Animal. Colorless glass, purple paint; flameworked, painted. Roughly cylindrical glass tube with one wide, flat, circular end. Four short purple lines painted on edge of circular end.
