Physical DescriptionTransparent brownish yellow over almost colorless with yellowish green tinge. Blown, applied or cased; relief-cut. Fragment, perhaps from bottle (but see below). Shoulder is rounded, and upper wall appears to be roughly straight. Entire exterior surface has clear traces of coldworking. Decoration is relief-cut and consists of: on upper shoulder, parts of three colorless, adjoining swags embellished with notches, which appear to be part of one continuous band of nine or 10 swags surrounding rim or neck; on lower shoulder, two yellow horizontal oval bosses separated by one circular yellow boss, which appear to be part of continuous band of alternating oval and circular bosses (overlay on oval bosses is thick and brownish yellow; overlay on circular boss is thin and yellow); at junction of shoulder and wall, colorless horizontal rib, which presumably was continuous; on upper wall, part of what appears to be colorless animal’s head, with circular eye in countersunk tear-shaped element.
