Physical DescriptionInlay of a Hawk's Head. Opaque white glass inlaid with translucent medium blue, opaque yellow, opaque brick-red and translucent deep blue glass, some surface pitting; cast and mosaic glass technique, polished and retouched by wheel-cutting. Beak overlaid with yellow, separation of upper and lower beak highlighted by wheel-cut line; eye composed of central deep blue dot surrounded by five alternating bands of white and brick-red, area behind eye highlighted by wheel-cut lines, bone structure above and in front of eye modeled when cast; three large pre-cast elements of medium blue highlight the head of the hawk.
