Physical DescriptionTelescope. Cardboard, wood, paper, lacquer, gilding, leather, horn, brass, glass; ground and polished glass, cardboard tube lacquered and gilded, horn and wood turned. Collapsible telescope wrapped in red and black leathers decorated with gilded scroll and vegetal motif. Brass collars on either side of outer tube. Lens of outer tube mounted in wooden disk. Transparent amber-colored horn eyepiece mounted on end of smallest tube.
