Physical DescriptionWhale-oil Lamp. Lead glass, colorless; very heavy; free-blown and cut hexagonal foot with short shoulder and neck with brass threaded collar, supported by large tooled half-spool knop, pressed hexagonal hollow standard with hexagonal pestle stem on high plinth; cut facets on short shoulder of font and on sides, large facets rising from spandrels of pointed panels; crested bird on spray of grape leaves with tendrils engraved on alternate facets, and large floral motif on alternate panels, traces of gilding on engraving.Provenance
