Fine Glass and British Ceramics, 19 September 2020, starting at 10:30 BST, Lot 89 Provenance Information supplied 2020-09-16 by Dr. Jim Peake, Glass and British Ceramics Specialist, Bonhams London: “The [set] has been in the same collection in the north of England since it was sold at Sotheby’s as mentioned in the footnote - it belonged to the client’s late father who collected millefiori pieces, and had hoped to write a book on the subject. All of our sales are routinely checked by the ALR so any problem pieces would have been flagged. If you do require a certificate I can contact them to see if I can get this in time for the sale, but it has been in the same collection since being legitimately bought at auction in 1972.”
