Physical DescriptionPossibly Fragment of Bowl with Fantastic Animal. Almost colorless, with greenish yellow tinge; few almost microscopic bubbles. Blown; relief-cut. Fragment, perhaps from wall of bowl (TTh. 0.4 cm), which tapers and is decorated in relief (Th. 0.1cm). At top, short section of horizontal rib, which formed upper border of frieze. Surviving part of frieze may depict fantastic animal with pointed ears, vertical neck and wing with narrow upper outline that curves back and up, and broader lower element that may be either outline or internal feature. Upper outline of wing is notched, and lower element has carefully incised herringbone motif.
