Physical DescriptionBands of translucent amethyst, colorless glass with opaque yellow spiral twist, opaque white and opaque yellow, dull and pitted with thin iridescent film, surface repolished recently; mosaic or ribbon glass technique. Fragment preserves rim and almost straight-sided vessel wall with swag design of a central amethyst cane cased on either side with white and yellow alternating with two spiral twist canes, this pattern is repeated three times, the rim is finished with a single amethyst trail spirally wound with opaque white.
