Interpretive Notes
The wineglass bears the initials of Metha's husband, George Repold. He was a Baltimore merchant who did business with the Amelung factory.
Physical DescriptionWineglass. Non-lead glass, colorless of grayish tone; free-blown and engraved; drawn conical bowl and stem; applied flaring circular foot with plain rim, rough pontil mark; on one side, a medallion composed of four small conventionalized flowers and four slender leaf sprays enclosing initials "G.R." encircled with floral design in script.
