Interpretive NotesThis pendant was found at Covehithe, Suffolk, in eastern England, in 1993. The ancient glass worker applied canes made from twisted threads of blue, white, and colorless glass to the amber glass cabochon, then set it in a gilded silver mount. Wear marks on the pendant’s loop indicate it was worn suspended from a chain or cord and was, perhaps, cherished by its owner for years before it was lost or buried.
