Rim plain, with rounded top; neck cylindrical, but narrower at bottom than at top; shoulder slopes and has rounded edge; wall straight and tapering; base consists of four vestigial feet. Linear-cut decoration on neck and wall. On neck: band of six rather irregular circular cuts just below rim and, lower down, continuous horizontal line above band of three small circular cuts. On wall: upper and lower registers, separated by two continuous horizontal lines. Upper register is broad and contains four motifs shaped like inverted U, each containing diamond-shaped element composed of four short cuts; one short arc above each inverted U, and tear-shaped motif and two short horizontal cuts between each pair of Us. Lower register has horizontal cut, combination of cut and dots, or row of dots on each flat face, and vertical row of dots; at center of each flat face, two vertical lines, which separate each foot from its neighbors. Except for vertical lines, cutting is broad, shallow, and carelessly executed.Provenance
