Physical DescriptionColorless lead glass, brass; blown, mold-blown, pattern-molded. (a) Massive candlestick shape; cylindrical socket with inward-folded rim; mounted on a massive stem with heavy three-ring annulated knop at top, above a large, hollow, ball-shaped knop with overall molded pattern of repeated hexagons (16 hexagons in a horizontal row), and a basal five-ring annulated knop; large domed and terraced foot with rough pontil mark underneath; (b) massive three-armed form on stem, fitting loosely inside the socket on (a); arms S-shaped, attached to a central cylindrical section using large pads of glass; arms curled in a spiral nearest the central attachment; the distant ends terminating in small rounded sections and capped with inverted domed and terraced drip pans and cylindrical candle sockets; the top of the central attachment capped with a turned brass candle socket mounted on a domed foot, cemented in place; a three-ring annulated knop below the attachment of the arms, above a wide disk, and solid, cylindrical shank; rough pontil mark on the tip of the shank.
