Physical DescriptionColorless lead glass; wheel carved, cut, engraved. Two small solid carved sculptures of abstracted animal life, horizontal ovoid format, each with engraved details and overall wheel-carving, polished details; (a) animal: stylized rodent-like creature with arcing pointed snout decorated with radiating engraved lines of whiskers/fur extending past small ovoid pontie eyes, suggestion of fur on body by broad wheel marks, top surface of body deeply-carved (non-polished) in irregular ovoid cavity; extended, slightly-upturned tail area with engraved and carved fur treatment; (a) fish: slightly smaller than (a); broad open mouth with carved lips and small notched teeth; egg-shaped body with central raised fin arcing from lips to short tapered tail, suggestion of fins in relief on sides of body, short engraved horizontal lines radiate from lips, on both sides of central fin; each object has ovoid base rim ground flat, no pontil; unsigned.Provenance
