Physical DescriptionTranslucent brown non-lead glass, metallic silver; metal, silver leaf?; glass fused in a cire perdue mold, applied silver surface; machined metal base. Solid vertical sculpture, roughly rectangular in shape with angular top edge, central opening, sculpture rests on flat metal base; top is an irregular right-angled triangle suggesting the appearance of 1/2 of a roof truss with extending beams, lower corners of triangle appear to rest upon two uneven wide parallel rectangular sides, front left has a narrow irregular "keyhole" opening and is covered on all sides with an irregularly applied silver coating, sides and top sections combine with a base rectangle to create a central rectangular "window" that is overlapped and transversed by a silver-surface broken parallelogram, lowest point of this form rests on the uneven, roughly triangular glass base, solid glass "drapery" billows through lower corner of window and parallelogram and cascades over front and back to pool on glass base; sculpture sits in inset area of base shape cut into a rectangular metal plate, inset lower edge, top of plate has overall slight abrasion; inscribed in block letters at edge of one short end of base: "VACHTOVÁ".Provenance
