Physical DescriptionColorless non-lead glass, transparent yellow enamel; molded (in a three-part mold), manipulated while hot (twisted), enameled. Pair of low footed candlesticks with overall semi-matte, mottled and enameled surface (almost like a wash), each has scattered internal air traps; deep cylindrical opening (extending to top of middle knop) has thick, slightly concave, roughly circular flaring rim, rim tapers in and is connected by a narrow neck to a center wide blade-knop that extends horizontally beyond the rim, knop is connected to the lowest and smallest blade-knop by a short concave stem, in turn connected to a wide circular base with low, irregular stepped rings, irregular edge; base has fire-polished surface and is slightly conical with a sunken in point at center (A base is slightly more conical), three mold marks that betray twisting of stem; no pontil; unsigned.Provenance
