Physical DescriptionOpaque very deep blue, appearing black, with opaque white and opaque yellow trails. Core-formed; applied, marvered, dragged. Amphoriskos: wide, carrot-shaped body. Rim thickened and irregularly rounded; neck cylindrical, shoulder slopes, with rounded edge; wall descends almost vertically, then curves down and in; base shaped like bulb; two opposed handles attached to shoulder at mid-point, drawn up, in, and down, and attached to top of neck. Decoration applied to neck and wall before handles were attached: alternating white and yellow trails dropped onto bottom of wall and wound spirally upward to top of neck, then (on wall, but not on shoulder or neck) dragged upward to form 16 adjoining vertical rows of festoons, and finally marvered. Interior of neck has dull red and white speckled surface, which is residue of core.
