Physical DescriptionAlmost colorless glass with pale green tint; blown, cold painted (reverse painting technique), and gilded. Fragment from floor of dish or plate; reverse cold painted and gilded decoration on outside: (seen from inside) curved narrow band with pink borders containing inscription in Greek capitals in black on gold background:]epsilon, tau, rho, upsilon, phi, alpha[ (epsilon consists of semicircle with horizontal bar); below this, on green background, two ray-like elements outlined in black, gilded, and with black dots and dashes, extending from unidentified motif to inner border of band.
