Physical DescriptionPlate Fragment. Circular canes of translucent amethyst with large opaque white centers cased in a thin white band and floating in an amethyst matrix, bubbly with much stone; mosaic glass or millefiori technique, lathe-cut, underside fire-polished. Fragment preserves wide ledge with lathe-cut groove on upper surface, a ridge marks the carination where the vessel wall bends down and in to form the shallow convex body as far as preserved.
