Physical DescriptionCovered Pitcher. Colorless, transparent ruby non-lead glasses; blown, pincered, engraved, gilt. (a) Globular body with straight-sided, cylindrical neck; engraved and gilt large stylized floral sprays on the neck and bulbous sides, floral sprays on the sides; applied hollow loop handle, curled at the lower terminal; elaborate pincered decoration within the bowl, with four flared waffle-impressed "leaves" above an oval formed of a red and white filigree twist, with four trailed, pincered vertical bands; conical foot; rough pontil mark. (b) Domed form with rounded rim and tapered brim; three engraved and gilt berry sprays; elaborate finial, similar to the decoration inside (b); rough pontil mark.
