Physical DescriptionColorless non-lead glass; mold-blown (half-post method), enameled. Rectangular form, with four flat sides; rounded shoulders; short neck with flared rim; a second gather ends at the base of the neck; black enameled decoration; on one face, an oval "basket" panel with scene, of a woman holding a child, a man standing alongside, a rooster crowing, with a seated hen on the handle of the basket; inscribed "MMR" below; the reverse face with lengthy inscription in German; the side faces with small vignettes of flowering plants and a bird; sprigs of foliage at the corners; flat base with rough pontil markProvenance
