Physical DescriptionColorless with variegated blue to mauve iridescent surface, patches of brownish-yellow stain and spots of blue and brown oxides (?); blown, apparently from two gathers, bits applied and tooled; surface colored by fuming (?) and sprinkling with oxides; base ground and polished. Vase. Rim plain; short cylindrical neck which thickens near bottom, apparently because of second gather; body roughly rectangular in plan but with rounded angles; sloping shoulder with rounded edge on longer axis only; wall roughly vertical, curving in at bottom; flat base, partly ground and polished with concavity at center. Applied and tooled decoration toward bottom of longer sides: rudimentary head with forearms raised on either side and hands pointing upward, as though supporting something heavy; small wheel with four spokes and, nearby, blob-like protrusion. Surfaces roughened in places. Scratched signature on base: "Boda/ B. Vallien/ Unik 3996" (cursive).
