Physical DescriptionColorless with multi-colored canes; pre-formed canes placed in desired arrangement on flat surface and picked up on marvered bubble of colorless, reheated and marvered thoroughly, reheated again and then inflated and manipulated to desired size and shape, rim finished at furnace; after annealing, base ground and polished. Bottle. Rim plain, with flat top; neck cylindrical, splaying at bottom and merging with sloping shoulder; wall straight, tapering; base flat, slightly concave, with edge ground and polished flat; large pontil mark. Decorated with all-over pattern of canes. On neck and upper part of shoulder, twelve vertical canes: (clockwise) extending from rim to base, colorless with multiple white spiral threads; colorless with, at center, twisted ribbon of yellow backed with white and, at surface, multiple white spiral threads; colorless with, at center, colorless containing four twisted white threads alternating with three pink threads and, at surface, groups of nine white spiral threads; colorless with multiple twisted pink threads; colorless with groups of fourteen white spiral threads; colorless with, at center, twisted pale blue ribbon and, at surface, multiple twisted white threads; colorless with, at center, two entwined twisted yellow ribbons and, at surface, multiple spiral yellow threads; colorless with, at center, two entwined twisted purple ribbons and, at surface, multiple spiral purple threads; colorless with alternating spiral white and pink threads; colorless two entwined spiral purple threads; colorless with, at center, three twisted white threads and, at surface, multiple spiral blue threads; colorless with, at center, four twisted white threads and, at surface, group of nine white spiral threads. On lower part of shoulder and wall, nine horizontal canes and one horizontal group of vertical rods, all of which begin and end at vertical colorless and white cane that runs from rim to base: (from top to bottom) colorless with alternating spiral white and pink threads; colorless with twisted pink ribbon with pair of white threads at each side; colorless with, at center, two twisted white threads and, near surface spiral pink thread, all perhaps cased with pink or covered with pink spiral threads; colorless with, at center, three twisted white threads and, at surface, multiple spiral blue threads; band of vertical dark purple/ chocolate, red, and yellow rods in irregular arrangement; colorless with alternating spiral white and pink threads; colorless with, at center, twisted pale blue ribbon and, at surface, multiple twisted white threads; colorless with, at center, two twisted white threads and, near surface spiral pale pink thread, all perhaps cased with pink or covered with pale pink spiral threads; colorless with, at center, two twisted white threads and, near surface spiral orange-red thread, all perhaps cased with orange-red or covered with red spiral threads; colorless with, at center, two entwined twisted purple ribbons and, at surface, multiple spiral purple threads. Five paper labels affixed to base: (1) circular, embossed in gold on yellow ground: "VETRERIA/ AURELIANO/ TOSO/ MURANO"; (2) rectangular, printed in blue on white: "VETRERIA/ AURELIANO TOSO/ MURANO" with small typed label attached: "6613"; (3) rectangular, typed on white: "BOTTIGLIA ALLEGRIA"; (4) rectangular, white, with blue printed border and typed inscription: "Designer/ Prof./ DINO MARTENS"/ (5) oval, printed in silver and blue: "MADE IN ITALY". The design is “Allegria” no. 6613.
