Physical DescriptionColorless, opaque white and deep amethyst (appearing black), translucent red glasses; semi-mold-blown with cane decoration, ground, polished. Large sculpture formed of a semi-cleaved bubble with long "neck"; elongated thick conical neck tapering in to ground (slightly beveled) and polished rim, narrow opening; body formed of an extra gather of glass blown into a bubble and deeply indented on one side (upper) forming two lobes, opposite side has slightly raised short rib; body is decorated (and almost completely covered) by bands of color that do not completely meet; beginning at the base of the neck are three narrow concentric ring bands of red neck, then a single slightly wider band of deep amethyst (appearing black) followed by wide bands of white covering bubble circumference, then three smaller concentric red rings near dimpled end; no pontil; inscribed in script on neck: "Lipofsky 78".Provenance
