Physical DescriptionColorless lead glass, wood, gilt metal, colored paper; (glass) blown and engraved. (a) Tapered casket shape with paneled cover, gilt lion mask handles with rings on sides; four gilt paw feet; the case veneered and inlaid; ivory diamond-shape keyhole escutcheon; the inside of the hinged lid covered with red paper; the base with three rectangular compartments; the center one with a square veneered insert, with circular opening; steel hinges and lock hasp; brass lock. (b) Cylindrical bowl with rounded base, on applied disk foot; the rim with engraved band of foliate motifs in panels, between lines; rough-pontil mark on underside of foot. (c,d) Rectangular boxes with hinged flat lids; tops veneered and inlaid; the interior with remnants of lead foil linings.
