Physical DescriptionColorless lead glass; blown, cut, engraved. Cylindrical bowl with rounded bottom, engraved on one side with a glassworks building, showing men loading a horse cart, inscribed "COTTAGE/ GLASS WORKS" on a pennant; surrounded by a foliate wreath, the other side with the British royal arms, inscribed "HONI [SO]IT QUI MA[L] Y PENSE" above elaborate script initials "J & M McL"; a bunch of grapes and a grape leaf on either side; hollow, dumbbell shape, panel cut stem; above a pad; pad foot with cut star on the underside.Provenance
