Physical DescriptionColorless non-lead glass; blown, cut. (a) Urn shape, with flared sides cut in a continuous pattern of diamond formed by intersecting sets of diagonal miter cuts; each diamond with either radial cut grooves or fields of cross-cut diamonds; matching triangular panels at the top and bottom; plain, panel- cut section at the bottom; bulbous lower section, with polished swirled gadrooning, either rounded or grooved; panel-cut capstan stem with flattened disk knop at the center; large, thick, disk foot with cut heavy ribs on the side, the bottom covered with a field of squares formed by sets of intersecting miter cuts; each square with either radial cut grooves or fields of cross-cut diamonds (matching those on the cut band on the sides). (b) Liner, of tapered shape, with flared and upturned rim; the rim cut in a series of scallops, the ends of cut fan ribbing on the sides; curved cuts across the lower parts of the fans; diamond-shaped panels between the fans, covered with cross-cut diamonds; panel-cut below; the tapered sides plain, with vertical grooves cut on the lower half; polished flat base with large polished concave pontil mark. (c) Domed cover; disk shaped finial, with cutting matching that on the sides and base of (a); waisted stem, with cut disks at the base; spreading sides, with cut panels above and below a band of diamonds and triangles with cut radial grooves (sunbursts) and cross-cut diamonds; petal- cut rim; tapered brim with polished flat rim.
