(a) Flat, tapered wood (mahogany) box with hinged cover, with bail handle on top and loops for hooks on the box; fabric padding inside; paper-covered wood lining on the sides of the box, with two vertical wood boards, covered with white paper and with fabric padding on top, with short metal wires inserted in the top, to space nineteen rounded blue glass bars; the bars formed from longitudinal sections of tubes, ground on the edges and ends; each bar with engraved gilt capital letters, A through G; brass hooks on the box and brass lock; the box assembled with wood splints at the corner.
