Physical DescriptionColorless non-lead glass; blown, blown-molded, enameled (painted ?), gilt. Tapered, straight-sided, conical bowl, with finely painted and gilt chinoiserie decoration; two hatted monkeys on an elaborate urn, two "oriental" figures at the side, one with a parasol, with a dragon flying overhead, and a dog standing beside a tree, holding a chain attached to one of the monkeys; the figures in polychrome, backed with green paint; molded four-sided pedestal stem, with long, slender air bubble; disk foot with painted and gilt foliate sprays, and a border of dotted semicircles, matching a border on the rim; the gilt areas backed in red; small rough pontil mark.Provenance
