Physical DescriptionBeaker. Colorless non-lead glass; blown, cut, double-walled, gilt, painted. Tapered, straight-sided, cylindrical shape; double- walled, with the outer and inner glasses meeting at the top rim; inset flat disk in the base; gilt and transparent painted decoration between the two glasses; gilt bands at the rim, with a border containing linked, scratched circles below the plain band at the rim; triangular panels of flowers and foliage at top and bottom; the band between filled with overlapping circular panels forming fields, with transparent amber and dark brown painted religious scenes, each inscribed in German script; a gilt border of linked semicircles and a plain band at the base; the bottom decorated (visible from the inside of the beaker) with a circular radiance, a triangle and an eye; in the center, inscribed around it "VATER-UNSER-", encircled by a ring of beading; backed with a translucent dark red resin; the underside of the bottom plain dark red.
