Physical DescriptionColorless non-lead glass; blown, enameled. Straight-sided, cylindrical form, with rounded base and flat bottom; the sides decorated with a continuous landscape in matte black enamel, including a ruin with arches and pilasters, with a fountain in the background, man and donkey at the left, a man and woman at the right; a fragmentary wall with two coats of arms at the base, one with a castlated tower, the other a lion rampant; rocks to the right of the wall, with scratched signature "IOH.SCHAPER." below; to the right, a large moated castle, partly overgrown with vegetation, a drawbridge and arcaded bridge at the right; two male figures standing in the foreground; bottom with slight concavity; rough pontil mark; three hollow flattened ball (bun) feet applied at the base rim.
