Physical DescriptionOpaque white, colorless non-lead glass; blown-molded, cut, double-walled. Tapered, straight-sided, circular form; the beaker of opaque white glass, with cut rims to fit rings at the top and bottom rims, and cut oval depressions to fit two oval plaques let into the sides; the upper rim with minute rope-work border in gold against a red background, a similar but larger band at the base; one plaque with a miniature portrait of a man, facing sinister, wearing a cream-colored coat with red lapels, within a gold and red ropework frame, with a ribbon bow at the top, and within a bead and reel border; the other oval panel enclosing a miniature painted coat of arms, bearing a crowned eagle in the upper left quarter; a crowned "F" in the upper half of the upper right quarter, and a stylized mountain in the lower half; similar "F" and mountains in the lower left quarter; similar crowned eagle, reversed, in the lower right quarter, within a similar frame, ribbon bow and bead-and-reel border; the bottom with inset circular panel depicting a large building with elaborate balustrade and large balusters at the corners and porch, dated "1788" on the pediment, with a bell tower and clock at the centers, with two men and dogs standing in front, within a bead-and-reel border, against a brilliant red ground.
