Physical DescriptionBeaker. Colorless non-lead glass; blown, cut, enameled, gilt, stained. Flaring side, rounded bulbous base; cut inset rim, gilt on the edge, stained yellow on the side, with decorative gilt floral and foliate border; finely enameled medallion enclosing a portrait of a woman, in a ribbon-wrapped foliate wreath with crown above; inscribed on the reverse "Caroline Auguste" in a wreath of delicate foliage; the underside of the rounded base with cut oval petals with cut nailhead diamonds and pointed ovals between; fan cutting at the sides.Provenance
