Physical DescriptionGoblet. Colorless non-lead glass; free-blown and engraved. Deep broad bowl with straight sides spreading slightly from rounded bottom; applied composite multi-knop stem: double blade wafer between hollow knops -- flattened ball above and below inverted pear at middle --, very wide circular foot with wide underfolded rim; armorial engraving on one side of bowl -- motto "SUB UMBRA ALARUM TUARUM" (In the shade of your wings protect us) at top of large coat of arms within garland formed of scrolled branch in leaf rising from plum-like leaf spray with ends terminating in bow knot at center bottom of arms; on foot, lightly engraved circlet of wide-spaced groups of leaves.Provenance
