Physical DescriptionColorless non-lead glass, cased in opal, cased in colorless with yellow, orange, amber and pink mottling; blown in a wood mold, enameled, fired; appendage cut, enameled and assembled with Lepox Rapid (CS). Tall cylindrical vessel with sloping shoulders, narrow necked rimless opening ground flat; one entire side of vessel decorated with enameling, in shoulder area yellow-green enameling of three large vertical rectangles, each framing a stylized head and neck, remainder of vessel wall has heavy black grid, each rectangle frames a black stylized head and neck form; cut and leaded component of adhered sections of yellow-green flat glass extends vertically from vessel opening and arcs from central oval, around two sides of vessel, attaching to walls approximately mid-way; flat section enameled in heavy black grid enclosing intermittant abstract forms; flattened base, no pontil; inscribed in block letters near vessel opening: "Machat 89".Provenance
