Physical DescriptionTranslucent red-orange, blue, opaque "black", white, deep red, yellow and chartreuse details, all cased in colorless non-lead glass; colored trails and slices of heated murrina applied to blown vessel, vessel then freely blown. Almost spherical vessel with narrow, slightly necked opening; red interior cased in opaque white, almost entire body decorated with broad overlapping scalloped trails of orange-red, deep red, and blue framing (above and below) seven large identical blown-out circular murrini cane decorations (upper two-thirds edged in small blue and white stars, blue background, surrounding three figures (delineated in black) in pyramidal format, at top young woman with long hair, white star-patterned dress, chartreuse collar, she stands above and between woman with short hair (on left), with black and yellow dress and bearded man with white collar and tie, black jacket); base ground flat; slight remnant of pontil; inscribed in script near base edge: Richard Q. Ritter 1976".
