Physical DescriptionColorless non-lead glass, sterling silver, copper powder and sheet; copper powder fused between two sheets of glass as they were slumped through a graphite jig, cooled and trimmed; domed copper sheet was pierced, chemically patinated, then placed between the glass and a silver bezel setting (soldered and etched) set to lock the three pieces in place. Circular brooch of sterling framing glass lens with internal copper decoration; silver straight-collared bezel mount has flat back with center circular cut-out and radiating linear etching on interior surface of backing, exterior surface of collar etched in double-band design, concave inner rim (copper matte finish) of mount encircles convex colorless glass dome with interior decoration of copper circle with dark perimeter banding; exterior surface of glass over copper circle with slight dimpling; two small drilled holes on opposite side of circular opening on back of mount, U-shaped pin with two clasps is hinged to back of metal mount; inscribed in script on back: "Jam/'89".
