Physical DescriptionOpaque red lead glass, sterling silver, Epoxy; glass shaped while hot, cooled glass fitted into shaped and slotted sterling shell, then suspended in kiln where glass was slumped through slots in silver; end caps and pin stem fabricated and adhered to glass with epoxy. Long narrow brooch with tapered ends; red glass wrapped in sterling silver shell cut with row of eleven teardrop shaped slots (graduated from small to large to small) through which glass has slumped slightly forming droplets, silver shell with thin black broken lines between cuts, wrapping reveals sliver of glass on rear side; ends of brooch are tipped in silver caps that support and secure (using a silver plug attached by a short length of silver chain) long curved pin; silver has overall non-glossy surface; inscribed in script on flat side of one end: "Jam/'89".
