Physical DescriptionBottle Case with Eight Bottles. Case: Shagreen-covered, lined with dark red velvet and woven silver-thread bands; silvered brass fittings. Rectangular box with domed, paneled, hinged top. Bottles: colorless lead glass; blown, cut. (a) Tall, flat-sided, bottle with cut corners; blown into full-sized, eight-sided mold; panel-cut sides, with panel-cut facets at the shoulders; short, cylindrical neck with flat, faceted rim; ground on the inside for stopper; flat, cut base with the remains of pontil scar. (b) Spherical, facet-cut knob enclosing multiple air beads; tapered, rough-ground shank.Provenance
