Plain conical foot with rough pontil mark, inverted baluster stem surmounted by annulated knob supporting funnel bowl; upper part of baluster is faceted; solid bottom of bowl has tears; engraved decoration: on foot a circlet of ribbons (Bandelwerk) with flowers and leaves; on bowl a coat-of-arms, showing an arm holding three flowers and bordered by a cartouche-like ornament with half-figure of woman on top center, also holding a flower; above the cartouche the names: "S.C. Von Frentheil"; on the reverse side following inscription, framed by flowers and ribbons (Laub-und Bandelwerk): "Freund in Ernst und Freund in Scherze Wie der Mund, so auch das Herze Treu in Worten, treu mit Rath, Ehrlich redlich in der that, ist mein angebohrner Staat". (A friend in earnestness, a friend in joking, the mouth as well as the heart, faithful in words, faithful in advice honest, fair in action is my inborn "state"- character. The inscription explains the device of this member of the family von Frentheil.)
