Physical DescriptionColorless non-lead sheet glass, opaque brown and red, translucent pale yellow glass enamels; cut, ground, kiln-formed-slumped (sheet steel mold), reverse enameled--powdered enamels sifted and manipulated, fired. Large circular platter with beveled rim, exterior decoration of granular enamel coloration; narrow perimeter border of brown fading to pale yellow; center of dish decorated with large stylized (almost cuvist and aerodynamic in its geometry) bird in overlapping shades of yellow and brown with red spots on neck and breast area, yellow dots on rear of body and brown on feathers extending below body; tufted head turns back toward body, pointed raised wings, scissored-legs with three-pointed claws; flattened circular base; pushed through enamel at center lower edge of design at rim (reading from front): "M.H.".
