Physical DescriptionTransparent dark blue lead glass; blown, enameled, gilt; stamped gold (metal). (a) Flattened shape of oval cross-section; short, cylindrical neck with cut threads on the sides (for b); ground for a stopper; rounded shoulders with gilt arrows; the sides covered with hollow-cut diamond facets; enameled Chinese figure on one side, holding a pole, with a pot hanging on one end, a dead bird on the other; gilt trees and foliage alongside; the reverse side with a colorful floral spray in enamels and gilt, with butterflies above and below; polished, flat base. (b) Cylindrical shape with dented (originally, probably domed) top; raised six-petaled flower on top; cellular pattern with oval dimples on sides; molded rim; threading inside.
